Sewer Line Replacement · Bergen + Essex County

New lateral. Next hundred years.

Sewer Line Replacement in Montclair, NJ & beyond

Full clay and cast-iron lateral replacement for pre-1960 properties that have outlived their pipe.

How we handle it

Camera first. Then the fix.

Many homes in northern New Jersey still run on the original clay or cast-iron lateral. When the camera shows failure along most of the run, patching it just delays the next emergency.

We remove the old pipe during excavation, install a new PVC lateral at proper slope and depth, connect it to your building drain and the municipal main, and backfill with compacted material. Pre-replacement footage goes on file for your permit application and your property records.

FAQ

Sewer Line Replacement questions.

How does a camera inspection set the replacement scope?

The camera measures exactly where the damage starts and stops. If sound pipe remains at either end, we can shorten the replacement. If failure runs from the house to the street, a full lateral replacement is the honest recommendation.

Why do homes built before 1960 need replacement more often?

Pre-1960 homes typically have full clay lateral runs with joints every few feet. Each joint is a doorway for roots, and decades of freeze-thaw cycles shift and crack the pipe.
