Sewer Line Repair · Bergen + Essex County

Fix the crack, not the whole yard.

Sewer Line Repair in Montclair, NJ & beyond

Cracked, collapsed and root-damaged laterals in homes with clay and cast-iron sewer lines.

How we handle it

Camera first. Then the fix.

Frost heave, tree roots and age leave clay and cast-iron laterals with cracks, separated joints and shifted sections that let soil and roots into the pipe.

The camera decides the scope. A single crack may only need a spot repair. Multiple failed joints or a root-crushed section call for sectional replacement. Only widespread deterioration justifies a full replacement, and we’ll show you the footage that proves it.

FAQ

Sewer Line Repair questions.

How do you know if a cracked line needs repair or full replacement?

We look at how many defects there are and how far they’re spread. One or two isolated cracks with sound pipe on either side are repair candidates. Cracking, offsets and root damage along most of the run means replacement is the better long-term value.

When is open-cut excavation the right method?

When the pipe is broken, collapsed or offset badly enough that the section has to be physically replaced. The choice follows a structural assessment on camera, never convenience or habit.

Do I need a permit?

Most municipal codes in Bergen and Essex County require a permit for work on the building sewer lateral. We tell you up front what your town requires.
